Social pressure, in diverse shapes and forms, influences research and the development of post-secondary disciplines. When possible, and legitimate, to claim an abuse of process, collective pressure validates the pertinence and the value of the work produced and their conclusions. There still remains, however, wide gaps – hopefully temporary – between the seeking and the production of knowledge, between knowledge and its application. It is in this dynamic tension that the articles of this ninth issue of Revue internationale de communication sociale et publique find their meaning.
